Victoria Police Department has now acquired surveillance images of the person they suspect stole an electronic scooter from a 54-year-old B.C. Special Olympics athlete.
The electric scooter was stolen from outside Hillside Mall in the 1600-block of Hillside Avenue around 4 p.m. on Sept. 21.
The suspect is described as 30 to 40-year-old Caucasian man standing approximately 6 feet tall, with a slim to medium build. In the images, he is wearing a blue and grey tracksuit, chain necklace and a Nike baseball hat.
The suspect used a shopping cart to transport the stolen scooter away.

VicPD describe the scooter as “a black, two-wheeled ‘FLG’ brand electric scooter, with off-road tires and a light on the front fender. The scooter’s serial number — which can be found along the base of the scooter where the battery sits — is FLJ-HBC0287.
The owner of the scooter has a disability and depends on the scooter for transportation.
