Vaisakhi: Bigger than ever?

Surrey celebrates Vaisakhi with a longer parade than previous years – and enormous crowds.

Organizers of Surrey’s Vaisakhi celebration had put out estimates of 200,000 for this year.

They may have not been far off.

Visibly larger crowds than previous years – including a longer parade procession – filled the streets of Newton on Saturday.

The event included, free food and live music.
