Valley police looking for witnesses after indecent act in Comox

"We'd like to encourage anyone who is out walking to stay alert to their surroundings."

The Comox Valley RCMP is looking for witnesses after a man was seen exposing himself on the 600-block of Colby Road in Comox on June 30.

A 12-year-old girl reported to her mother that she was on Colby Road at approximately 11:15 a.m. when she saw a young man exposing himself while riding a bicycle. She described the man as being an average build in his twenties, with short blond hair. He was reportedly wearing a white t-shirt and white shorts and his bicycle had curved handlebars.

“We’d like to encourage anyone who is out walking to stay alert to their surroundings,” said Const. Monika Terragni, media relations officer with the Comox Valley RCMP. “This is also a good time to talk to children in your care about staying safe and being alert as they’re enjoying our beautiful summer weather.”

The Comox Valley RCMP is asking residents to report any suspicious activities immediately to the RCMP. Anyone with information should contact the Comox Valley RCMP at (250) 338-1321 and refer to file 2021-10579.
