Local Mounties attended 248 calls for service in January.
Crime information was presented to the municipal council at the Feb. 10 regular public meeting.
In comparison to the same month in 2019, crime reduced three percent this January.
The total number of crime mentioned below is for the entire jurisdiction that Vanderhoof RCMP cover, which includes Vanderhoof, Saik’uz First Nation, Cluculz Lake and Area ‘F’.
Crime statistics for Jan. 2020:
Assaults — 17
Break and Enters — 3
Mischief — 6
Liquor Offences — 22
Traffic Accidents — 34
Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicles — 7
IRP’s (Immediate Roadside Prohibition) — 3
Breaches — 9
In comparison to 2019, the reason there was a three percent decrease is because the number of Breaches reduced from 20 last year to nine this year.
