Files reported to the Vanderhoof RCMP between November 11 to 18.

On November 11 an abandoned vehicle at Striegler Pit was reported to RCMP members. The 1990 brown Ford Topaz was badly vandalized. RCMP are still trying to establish whether the vehicle was stolen.

Since October 25, RCMP have been responding to a number of abandoned 9-1-1 calls. RCMP must respond to every abandoned 9-1-1 call. A number of the calls were made accidently by children. RCMP would like to ask residents to educate their children on not dialing 9-1-1 accidently.

A vehicle was stolen from the Stoney Creek reserve during the morning of November 12. RCMP later located it on the Kenny Dam Road in a ditch. The vehicle sustained serious damage and there were no occupants in the area of the accident. RCMP are looking for any information related to this crime. The vehicle was a grey Hyundai Accent.

On November 16 three vehicle roll-overs were reported to RCMP as a result of bad road conditions.

RCMP also reported that last week the tire came off someone’s car while they were driving down Burrard Avenue. The owner of the vehicle had forgotten to get the tires torqued after having their winter tires put on.

The RCMP would like to remind people that after having your winter tires put on your vehicle, you should have your tires torqued after 100 kilometres.
