RCMP and first responders were called to a serious motor vehicle incident today (Oct. 9) at 3:56 p.m. on Two Mile Flat.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash. Corey Stavely, a witness at the scene, told the Observer he was travelling south on Highway 97 two vehicles behind a green truck, which was involved in the collision. He said he saw the white truck attempt to cross the highway from Keis Road, and the two vehicles collided.

The white vehicle ended up on its side in the entrance to Lear Road.

“The green truck tried to turn out of the way, but they still ended up here,” said Stavely. “I didn’t see the truck roll. I didn’t realize it was on its side till I got out of my vehicle.”

The occupants of the vehicles were being treated by paramedics at the scene.

“Everyone appears to be in reasonable shape at the moment but I haven’t talked to everybody yet, so we will have to wait and see,” said an investigating officer at the scene.

He said the investigation is ongoing and the Quesnel RCMP hope to issue a press release by tomorrow morning.

Traffic is still flowing on the highway near the crash.
