Vehicle crashes into fence on Main Street

An elderly man was released by paramedics after about 15 minutes in the back of an ambulance

An elderly man was released by paramedics after crashing into a fence behind the Chevron gas station on Main Street.

Firefighters said the man could have suffered more serious injuries, as a three-inch-thick pole from the fence had gone through his windshield’s driver side. However, the pole was on an angle, and went along the dashboard.

The cause of the crash is unclear, but there was significant damage to a fence and some minor damage to an air conditioning unit on an adjoining building.

The car appears to have been going a considerable speed, as it hopped a large curb and was resting on a large rock.

The man was loaded into the back of an ambulance where he received unspecified care by paramedics, but was released after about 15 minutes.
