On May 21, Grand Forks Ambulance Services called RCMP to report a single vehicle accident on Highway 3 four kilometers west of Christina Lake at the pull out by the wooden information sign with information on Grand Forks.
There were three occupants in the car, but no one was trapped or injured.
The vehicle was 20 feet down (seven metres) the embankment on the eastbound lane facing westbound.
The 32-year-old female driver from east Vancouver was charged with failing to keep on the right-hand side of the road.
“Apparently she was turning around when she was driving to speak to one of the passengers when she lost control of the vehicle, crossed the centre line and went over the embankment,” said Grand Forks RCMP Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison.
