Vehicle parade connects Barriere schools with their students

Youngsters took advantage of the opportunity to wave at their teachers on Friday, May 1, when Barriere Elementary and Secondary School staff took to their vehicles, started their engines, and completed a parade route around the heart of the community so they could wave and say "hello" to their students. The line of vehicles was long, and the smiles from adults and students were wide. School staff commented on how much they enjoyed the parade and the opportunity to see their students after all B.C. schools from kindergarten to grade 12 were officially closed indefinitely on Mar. 17, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
