“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
That Dr. Seuss quote perfectly sums up Vernon’s Griffon Burton’s thoughts after being shut out of the ET Canada co-host contest Wednesday night.
“At the end of the day I accomplished something that not many people said they had,” said the 21-year-old who made it to the final four to become co-host for a day on ET Canada.
“I was presented with this opportunity to go out and follow my dreams and I did. Thank you to who ever voted for a local boy to chase his dreams of stardom.”
Making it to the final four granted Burton the chance to work with ET’s Roz Weston.
“Roz Weston is an amazing person, I can not say enough good about him,” said Burton. “For what he has done for me is nothing I have ever received before. This man is a truly great person with a big heart. I loved everyone as they were all so talented.”
Burton, a Wal-Mart photographer, is grateful he pushed his comfort zone, which earned him the opportunity.
He reminds others: “No matter who you or where you are, you are amazing.”
Moving forward, Burton isn’t sure what his future holds, but for the time being he plans to stick to photography
“Well unless Ellen asks me to work for her then we have a different story.”
