Donations are down at the Vernon and District B.C. SPCA Branch, and staff are hoping the public can help.
“Being a non-profit organization, we really depend on the public’s generosity,” said branch manager Chelsea Taylor. “Every little bit helps the animals in need in our care.”
The Vernon SPCA is most in need of:
- Clumping cat litter;
- Bleach;
- Laundry detergent;
- Dish detergent;
- Black garbage bags;
- Dog chews (toys or treats);
- Canned food (dog, puppy, cat and kitten);
- Cat toys;
- Cat treats.
People can also make monetary donations to help the Vernon SPCA shelter continue its life-saving work in helping the province’s most vulnerable animals.
“We really appreciate anything people are able to give,” said Taylor.
Donations can be made in person during open hours, from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, or online at spca.bc.ca/vernon.
