Vernon firefighters are ensuring a wildfire doesn’t get out of control.
Crews returned to the hall Monday morning after being on Tronson Road, near the Tavistock development, overnight.
“There were continuous flare-ups they knocked down through the night,” said Keith Green, fire chief.
“We left our porta-tank and hose lines out and will monitor the site throughout the day but won’t put a crew there for now.”
The fire broke out at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday on a hill and ground crews from the B.C. Wildfire Service were brought in to help Vernon firefighters. The blaze has also been bucketed by helicopter.
The evacuation order for about 60 residents of Adventure Bay was rescinded Sunday morning.
No structures were damaged by the fire.
“Ministry of Forests investigators are returning this morning (Monday) to continue to determine the cause,” said Green.
