Veterans Memorial Parkway reopens after crash causes gasoline leak

Veterans Memorial Parkway has reopened after two separate crashes closed the road between Cairndale and Latoria roads in Colwood.

Assistant Cheif Greg Chow, Colwood Fire Rescue, said a car hit another vehicle near Allandale Road. The car then continued on Veterans Memorial Parkway towards Latoria Road, striking a van which began leaking gasoline.

Crews had to remove the leaking fuel from the van and clear it from the road surface before it could be towed.

The driver of the car and the driver of the van were transported to hospital. The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.

Crews closed the road for more than three hours and Chow thanked the public for their understanding.
