VicPD notify public of sexual assault with weapon in Esquimalt

Officers ask residents to be vigilant while investigation continues

A sexual assault with a weapon occurred in Esquimalt early Saturday morning, according to VicPD who are asking people to be vigilant while the investigation continues.

The victim alleged that an unknown man entered her apartment in the 800-block of Ellery Street around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The man was armed with a weapon, and sexually assaulted her.

The victim fled the suite and reported the incident to the RCMP who then advised VicPD.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Multiple officers are working on the investigation which is in the early stages. Officers are asking people to be vigilant while police continue their investigation and more information becomes available.
