Victoria man facing several charges after police raid drug house

Methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and GHB found in North Park home

A 31-year-old Victoria man is facing a string of drug charges following a search of at a North Park home last week that uncovered a wide variety of drugs.

On Oct. 21, members of the Victoria police strike force section and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team searched a home in the 800 block of Queens Avenue.

Inside, they found half a kilogram of methamphetamine, 42.5 grams of cocaine, two grams of heroin and four litres of Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) — commonly known as the date rape drug. Several weapons were also found.

A male and female were arrested at the home, but the woman was later released without charges. Six charges are being recommended against the man, who is known to police. Those charges include three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession contrary to order.
