Mission drivers experienced a different kind of flood Thursday morning as they made their way down the Lougheed Highway.
A broken watermain sent a rush of water down Hurd Street on onto the highway.
According to the district, the watermain, located by the lower driveway at Mission Memorial Hospital, was damaged by a local contractor working on the site at about 8 a.m.
Water poured over the curb, down the sidewalk and all the way onto Lougheed Highway.
The street filled with water quickly as district staff were called out to shut down the water.
The hospital was left without water for a short period of time.
The main has now been repaired and while the water may be a little discoloured, staff are making sure the chlorine levels are back to normal and safe.
