Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail said that the fire was spotted by a patrolling member.
The vehicle was next to a hydro pole, but crews extinguished the blaze quickly and there was no further damage.
Rail confirmed that police spoke to the owner who had recent mechanical work done on the vehicle.
“There was no evidence of a criminal act,” he said.
Witnesses on the scene said the vehicle is owned by a CIBC employee.
