There was a heavy police presence at a downtown Chilliwack home Wednesday afternoon, the same home where there was a camper fire in the driveway three days prior.
Half a dozen RCMP cruiser were at the scene May 23 of the home on Victor Street at the corner of Reece Avenue where the May 20 fire took place.
There were few details immediately following the police presence, but one individual was taken away in a cruiser and a wheelchair was put in the trunk.
Officers were focused on a dark blue Ford Mustang convertible parked in front of the house where the charred camper was still in the driveway.
Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail said later on Wednesday the incident in front of the residence Wednesday was unrelated to the fire Sunday.
It was at approximately 4:50 a.m. on May 20 when the Chilliwack Fire Department was alerted to a report of a camper fire in the 9000 block of Victor Street at the corner of Reece Avenue.
Fire crews from Hall 1 responded to the scene and upon arrival discovered smoke and flames showing from a camper in the driveway of a residential property.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire, however the camper sustained heavy fire, smoke and water damage.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
This fire is under investigation by the Chilliwack Fire Department and the RCMP.
