A camper truck and a bus crashed in the north end this morning.
Nanaimo Fire Rescue and B.C. Ambulance Service are on scene at the old Island Highway near the Turner Road intersection after a truck with a camper and a coach bus collided at 11:20 a.m. in the northbound lanes.
Witnesses said one person from the camper truck was taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Two of the bus passengers were tended to at the scene by paramedics.
About 35 passengers were delayed, but Tofino Bus All-Island Express brought another bus to the location, firefighters helped transfer luggage from one bus to the other, and that bus is now on its way north.
Northbound traffic is pinched to one lane.
