Highway 1 through Langley was closed to eastbound traffic for almost two hours Tuesday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash that sent one person to hospital.
The accident happened just west of the 248 Street overpass around 2:30 p.m.
Multiple ambulances and fire trucks were called to the scene.
The freeway was shut down and at least one on-ramp to the freeway, at 232 Street, was closed west of the accident scene.
One person was taken to hospital by air ambulance with undetermined injuries.
By 4 p.m., it vehicles were being allowed through once more, but traffic remained backed up as far as 192 Street.
It was more than an hour before congestion cleared.
