A stretch of 240th Street is blocked while crews collect evidence a crash involving a pedestrian.

A 25-year 0ld man from Abbotsford was hit by a pickup truck while walking in the 2100-block of 240 St. just after 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

Langley RCMP said a Dodge Ram was heading northbound on 240 Street when it struck the pedestrian.

“The area is dark and there are no street lights,” RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy said.

There was “moderate rain” at the time and the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The truck remained at the scene.

Investigators closed down the section of 240 St. from 24 Ave. south to 16 Ave. to take photographs, collect evidence, and canvas nearby properties.
