A pedestrian was hit on the corner of 56 Avenue and 201A Street in Langley City around noon Monday (Aug. 27).

Police, fire and ambulance units responded.

Traffic on 56 was blocked off eastbound while first responders worked on the accident scene.

The victim, a woman, appeared to be conscious and able to speak as paramedics loaded her into an ambulance.

One eyewitness told the Times the woman was in the crosswalk when she was hit by a small car.

It appeared the driver of the car remained on the scene.

Langley RCMP said the injured woman was treated for “minor facial injuries.”

The initial police report said the pedestrian had the right of way in the crosswalk and the vehicle involved failed to yield on a right turn.
