One arrested after pickup crashes

A pickup truck that was stolen in Langley early Friday afternoon was recovered in Burnaby a few hours later.

Officers intercepted the stolen black Ford F150 truck around 2 p.m. after it was involved in a collision in the 3800 block of Nithsdate Street in Burnaby. No one was injured.

The truck was reported stolen in Langley in the early morning hours of Sept. 21.

“Through a coordinated effort which involved Officers from Langley RCMP, Surrey RCMP, Burnaby RCMP, New Westminster Police, Vancouver Police, and the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team, and (the Air 1 helicopter), an adult male was taken into police custody” said a statement issued by Surrey RCMP.

“No charges have been laid as the investigation is on-going.”
