There have been nearly 30 crashes causing casualties at the intersection of Kalum St. and Keith Ave. between 2016 and 2020, more than double the next most dangerous intersection in Terrace, according to newly released ICBC data.
According to ICBC’s open data sets — which include mapped data that identifies every police-reported crash in Terrace going back five years — there were 59 total crashes at the Kalum St. and Keith Ave. intersection, compared to 24 at the Hwy 16 and Keith Ave. turning lanes and 23 at the intersection of Keith Ave. and Kenney St.
In total, there were 46 crashes either on the Sande Overpass or at the adjoining intersections.
Of the intersections with the most casualty crashes, which ICBC lists as those resulting in injury or fatality, Kalum St. and Keith Ave. led all others in Terrace with 28. There were 12 casualty crashes at the intersection of Keith Ave. and Kerr St. and another 12 at Keith Ave. and Kenney St.
