View Royal store robbed by man with scissors

The Mac's Convenience Store in View Royal was held up early yesterday morning, Oct. 1 at 3:58 a.m.

The Mac’s Convenience Store in View Royal was held up early yesterday morning, Oct. 1 at 3:58 a.m.

A lone male walked into the Admirals Road convenience store with a pair of scissors as a weapon and demanded money.

The cashier told police the man disguised his voice and one the cash register was open he demand the cashier get on the floor.  There was between $40 and $70 in the register at the time.

The man is described as Caucasian and between five-foot-seven and five-foot-10 with a slender to medium build.  He is said to have a distinctive nose and pock marks on his face.

The scissors and grey and black plaid jacket were recovered by police in nearby bushes.

“The West Shore RCMP are actively investigating this file. They are reviewing video footage and investigating every avenue possible to ensure the person behind this robbery is held accountable for their actions,” said Cst. Sarah Beckett.

RCMP are requesting anyone with information to call the West Shore RCMP detachment at (250) 474-2264.
