After a thundering weekend that left 75 people without power in Quatsino, the North Island is bracing for another windstorm Monday night and into Tuesday morning.
Environment Canada warns that a vigorous storm will pound exposed coastal areas with winds of between 90 and 110 kilometres an hour. It’s highly likely that tree branches will break, some trees may fall and chances of a power outage are high.
Quatsino lost power at 4 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14 when a tree fell across power lines. It has yet to be restored, though BC Hydro reports crews are on-site.
Heavy rain is expected with the brewing storm, which could turn to snow in some areas on north Vancouver Island.
