Vis holding town hall meeting in Mission

Conservative Party candidate to speak on Thursday, March 28 at the Mission Leisure Centre

  • Mar. 26, 2019 12:00 a.m.

Brad Vis is holding a town hall meeting on Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m. at the Mission Leisure Centre (7650 Grand St.).

The public is invited to join him and listen to his vision for the riding of Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon.

Earning the privilege of representing local constituents in Ottawa is one Conservative Party candidate Vis says he takes seriously.

In the past eight months, Vis and his team visited the homes of over 13,000 constituents to learn about local priorities.

The concerns he hears most while canvassing local neighbourhoods are:

– Affordability. The government’s fourth deficit budget makes it harder to stay afloat, let alone get ahead, and heaps another mountain of debt on our children and grandchildren.

– Gang violence and illegal guns. Gang violence is rising in our community and it threatens us all.

– Saving the Fraser River. This ecosystem and the salmon and sturgeon populations it supports are vital to our community. There are also major concerns regarding flood preparedness.

– The Liberal MP’s formal request to change the name of our riding.

The public is welcome to ask questions at this event.
