A VIU student has lost all of her presentation equipment for the Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth to a theft from her parked vehicle.
According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, the theft happened in the early morning Wednesday, March 18, on the 500 block of Franklyn Street where she had parked her 2005 gold/brown Nissan Altima.
The Vancouver Island University nursing student told investigators the rear window of her vehicle had been smashed and all the items were removed from the car’s interior.
The stolen equipment and materials were used to educate and bring awareness to local students on how alcohol-fuelled, split-second, risky decisions could bring them a lifetime of hardship and suffering.
The PARTY program has given thousands of students across North America the opportunity to hear testimonials and interact with police officers, paramedics, doctors and injury survivors.
The stolen items include a HP DV7-6C7OCA laptop computer with a white label that reads ‘After Party,’ Logitech Z323 speakers with a subwoofer, a BenQ MW516 projector, two Targus wireless presentation remotes, an HP mouse and a black case on wheels with a pullout handle.
