Forest View Place received $1,014 that was raised at the annual Voices United Community Choir performance, held Dec. 14.
Trinity Shared Ministry sponsors the choir and each year picks a different recipient to receive the money. Clearwater HELP, Wells Gray Search and Rescue, Forest View Recreation program, and Clearwater Hospice Society have all benefited from the generosity of the audience members in the past.
This year, knowing that Forest View Place needed new chairs, the church board chose that project as their donation recipient. Another group, in the meantime, has offered to buy all the needed chairs, so the money raised by the choir will be used for new recliners for the comfort of the residents.
“Forest View Place holds a special spot in our hearts,” said Mary Neathway, choir committee member.
“Trinity Shared Ministry has friends and family living there, and members of our congregation also visit often, offering worship services and hymn sings. The choir also performs the cantata to residents and friends each year as a Christmas gift of music.”
The 2020 Voices United Community choir will begin practices the first Wednesday of October. Anyone who wants to sing in unison and be part of the group is welcome.
