Wanted man arrested in Surrey underground parking garage

33-year-old facing numerous charges.

A Surrey man wanted on several outstanding warrants was arrested by RCMP early Wednesday morning in South Surrey.

Police located the suspect and his vehicle in the 1600-block of 154 Street at approximately 1:50 a.m. July 6. Surrey RCMP and Gang Enforcement Team officers converged on the area, and with the assistance of Integrated Police Dog Services, made an arrest as the vehicle was attempting to leave an underground parking area.

Jason Lindgren, 33, was arrested and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Lindgren is a parolee facing Breach of Undertaking and Breach of Recognizance charges, as well as the several charges out of Maple Ridge, including kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and pointing a firearm.

Police say additional charges relating to Lindgren’s arrest in Surrey are likely.

“This latest arrest is another example of the progress being made to safely remove such dangerous and high-risk offenders from Lower Mainland communities,” said Surrey RCMP Insp. Shawna Baher. “The expediency with which this arrest was affected is a direct result of the coordination amongst multiple police agencies working together to minimize risk and enhance public safety throughout the region.”
