Summerland broke a heat record on June 22 as the temperature reached 35.2 C. The overnight low that day was also mild, at 17.6 C.
While the temperature in Summerland was warm, there were some areas with hotter temperatures. Ashcroft recorded a temperature of 37.0, making it the hottest place in Canada for the day, according to data from Environment Canada.

By comparison, Tatlayoko Lake, British Columbia was the provincial cold spot, with a temperature of 3.2 C, while Tuktut Nogait National Park, Northwest Territories recorded a temperature of -2.7, the coldest temperature recorded in Canada for the day.
Summerland’s normal temperatures for June 22 are a high of 24.4 C and a low of 11.9 C.
The upcoming weather forecast calls for more warm weather. Saturday, June 26 has a forecast high of 37 C, while the forecast for Sunday, June 27 and Monday, June 28 calls for a high of 39 C on both days.
The hottest temperature ever recorded in Summerland was 40.0 C, reached on July 16 and July 17, 1941.
Typically the warmest days of the year in Summerland are Aug. 1 to 4, with an average maximum temperature of 27.8 C and an average minimum temperature of 14.5 C.
