Nanaimo RCMP are asking for help locating a man with numerous driving offence charges and who fled the scene of a road check earlier this year.
The warrant for Marcus Allan Williams, 29, stems from an incident 11:30 p.m. June 13. According to a press release, Williams is alleged to have been stopped by a Nanaimo RCMP Municipal Traffic Unit member and when asked to show a valid driver’s licence, “sped off and was not located.”
Police were able to determine the identity of the driver through investigation, and after the accused could not be located, the warrant was issued, the press release said.
Williams is wanted for driving while disqualified and five counts under the Motor Vehicle Act, notably failure to stop for police.
He is described as Caucasian, standing 5-foot-11, 190 pounds and is said to have family and friends across Vancouver Island, although police say they don’t believe he is currently on the Island.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Williams is asked to contact Nanaimo RCMP Municipal Traffic Unit at 250-754-2345, quoting file No. 2020-21250.
