A search warrant obtained and executed by Kelowna RCMP allowed officers to make sizeable drug and cash seizures from a downtown Kelowna residence.
Officers were provided with tip information regarding a vehicle believed to be involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the downtown Kelowna area. Acting on the information provided, investigators launched an investigation, which spanned several days and determined the vehicle to be a rental.
On Feb. 22, police gathered sufficient evidence to support the arrest of the man, who was safely taken into police custody outside a business located in the 2000 block of Harvey Avenue.
Following his arrest, our officers obtained and subsequently executed a search warrant on the man’s apartment located in the 700 block of Leon Avenue,
said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. In total RCMP seized in excess of one pound of various forms of suspected cocaine, over 30 grams of crystal methamphetamine, more than $15,000 in cash and equipment consistent with the sale of illicit drugs.
The 21-year-old Kelowna man, who now faces potential drug related charges, was later released from police custody on strict conditions. He is expected to appear in court on May 11.
