Drivers travelling in and out of Tofino-Ucluelet are facing delays Tuesday morning.
DriveBC is reporting a washout shut the highway down in both directions around 4 a.m. and that the road opened to single-lane, alternating traffic around 7 a.m.

The washout occurred roughly five kilometres from Kennedy Hill and the Ministry of Transportation cited heavy rainfall as the cause.
An update by DriveBC at 2 p.m. reported that the single-lane traffic situation was still in effect and another update is expected at 3 p.m.
