Victoria council was due to decide on a waste-collection model on Thursday, but the agenda item was postponed for another week.
In late 2011, 4,316 people completed a survey presenting three collection options. It pertained to both garbage and kitchen scrap collection, a new service to be introduced next year.
Of the options presented, the cheapest came out the clear winner. Mayor Dean Fortin has said council will respect the wishes of the people, however the city’s survey is not binding.
