North Island College brought a little bit of Science World to the Comox Valley Saturday, as the college hosted a Community Science Celebration in partnership with the Vancouver-based organization.

A Community Science Celebration is a one-day, free event that brings the community together and showcases the educational opportunities, local industries, government agencies, schools and community organizations involved in STEAM fields (science technology, engineering, art and design, and math).

This event is for the community and encourages people of all ages to participate in activities, engage with community organizations and discover more about the science that’s happening right there in their own community.

It also illustrates the value of science education and encourages students to consider science and technology career options.
