Around 60 animal lovers from around Quesnel gathered today (July 31) in front of the city’s provincial court buildings calling for tougher sentencing for Karin Adams, who is in court in Red Deer, Alberta today after being arrested with eight dogs in her care in a hotel in Innisfail, Ab.

Adams and her daughter Catherine have a long history of animal abuse and are currently under a 20-year ban from owning animals, dating from a 2015 case in Houston, B.C.

On July 4, 2018, Karin and Catherine Adams had 16 dogs seized by the BC SPCA from a property in Quesnel. The SPCA says the dogs were being kept in crates too small for their size in a poorly ventilated area, with little or no access to water and with feces/urine-soaked matting.
