I was watching the full harvest moon the other night. It was awe-inspiring I must say.
It made me feel that I was not alone in the watching. I’m just betting there were at least a few of you there out at least for a moment doing the same. I wondered also, was it watching me back? Is there really a man in the moon?
I know that science says that it isn’t true. But maybe it is made of green cheese?
I heard science says that’s not true either; however, didn’t science years ago say the world is flat? Maybe that man in the moon is like a leprechaun and he was eating some of the green cheese and watching me?
Or maybe not. The moon is a powerful thing nonetheless. Full moon, half moon, harvest moon, blue moon and even crescent moon, to name a few.
Especially if you talk to sailors or anyone who lives near the oceans.
The tides themselves are ruled by the moon.
After all things are said and done they, although I dunno who “they” are, say the moon is the sun’s sister and shines because of her.
A mere reflection of the original light.
I know the sun seems blinding, sometimes, so I suppose it could be true somewhat, but there is tremendous power in that reflected light.
Why else would wolves and a few other animals, including humans, howl at the moon?
I have never heard of anything howling at the sun, have you?
I know I have seen some amazing pictures that seem to show off moonbeams.
Also, how about that ring that is around it some nights? Just like with the sun!
I suppose there are more plants that thrive from the sun even though I have heard that there are some that bloom at night only.
Hmm … no matter which is out at any given time they are extremely powerful for things so far away, right?
Along with some of you, I will still continue to enjoy seeing the light of the moon in all of it’s stages no matter if it is reflected glory/light or not.
How could each and every single one of those amazing songs that talk about it be wrong?
It is very much a humbling experience as well as thought provoking on occasion, obviously at least for me.
So feel free to have your own moment with the moon, and it may just be watching you back.
