The City of Terrace is reminding residents that despite cooler temperatures, water sprinkler restrictions that went into effect July 31 are still in place.
Residents living at odd-numbered house addresses can water their gardens on odd-numbered days, while residents at even-numbered addresses can water on even numbered days. Sprinklers can only be turned on between 5 a.m. to 10 a.m..
The City of Terrace says the restrictions are required to ensure that adequate water supply is available for firefighting purposes, and to keep the costs of delivering water to a minimum.
While water sprinkling hours are restricted to the morning, hand sprinkling of flowers and shrubs with a controlled nozzle is allowed at any time.
The print edition of the Terrace Standard on Aug. 2 reported incorrect information on the water sprinkling restrictions. The information has been corrected above.
