A Women’s Solidarity Gathering happened Saturday in Courtenay, in conjunction with the Women’s March on Washington.

You Can’t Comb Over Misogyny and We Shall Overcomb were some of the messages on signs and banners at the Women’s Solidarity Gathering Saturday at the Courtenay Court House lawn — held in conjunction with the Women’s March on Washington. While other events around the world were protests against newly-elected U.S. President Donald Trump, organizers stressed the local event was more of an “assertion of our rights.”
