Weekly COVID-19 cases edge upwards in Penticton and South Okanagan

Nine new cases were reported from March 7 to 13

Weekly COVID-19 cases edged upwards in the South Okanagan for the first time in the last three weeks.

There were nine cases reported from March 6 to March 13, up from six in the previous two weeks according to data from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control.

Seven of those cases were reported in Penticton, with one new case in Keremeos and one in the South Okanagan area including Oliver and Osoyoos.

The B.C. Centre for Disease Control began providing weekly COVID-19 case updates for local health areas throughout the province in early December.

From January 2020 to January 2021 there were 235 cases recorded in the South Okanagan area, 257 in Penticton and 17 in Keremeos.
