A West Kelowna resident has found the man who saved her life.
On April 3, Rhonda Johnson’s heart gave out as she was driving her truck at the intersection of Pandosy Street and Groves Avenue.
When her heart stopped, she was assisted by an off-duty firefighter who the resident was able to find after putting a call out to the media.
Rhonda wanted to find and thank the individual who saved her life, said her sister Robyn Johnson. The man, Eric Simpson, turned out to be a longtime friend of Rhonda’s.
“This all happened the day before her 61st birthday,” said Robyn. Rhonda is currently at Kelowna General Hospital, recovering and waiting for the possibility of a pacemaker, after being visited by family.
Her chest is very sore, and she will potentially have the pacemaker installed at Victoria General Hospital when she’s in good enough condition, said Robyn.
