West Shore RCMP reminds vehicle owners to lock it or lose it

Numerous complaints of vehicles rifled through in View Royal

West Shore RCMP reminds vehicle owners to keep their car doors locked and remove valuables from them after receiving calls of vehicles rummaged through.

Police said that on Tuesday they received numerous calls complaining about items taken from vehicles that were rifled through.

Police said majority of the calls came from View Royal in the area near the Trans Canada Highway and Helmcken Road.

Several complainants said they had left their car doors unlocked, only to return and find that someone had gone through their vehicle and in some cases, find that items were stolen.

“There was no suspect observed,” said Const. Nancy Saggar of West Shore RCMP. “We would like to remind vehicle owners to lock their car doors and take your valuables with you.”

Police are asking community members to report suspicious activity to West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
