The last day of 2019 is going to be a soggy one. Environment Canada is predicting “a long episode of rain, at times heavy, is expected.” A frontal system moving southwards down the BC Coast will continue to give heavy rain to inland sections of the Central Coast today and tonight.
Rainfall totals near 80 mm are possible by the time rain eases Wednesday morning. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Things are looking better by Thursday as temperatures are expected to drop enough for snow instead of rain.
