The City of White Rock has renewed its operating and services agreement with the White Rock Museum and Archives for five years.
The new agreement, which replaces an old contract that expired Aug. 1, 2013, covers a term from April 2016 to March 31, 2021, and was authorized unanimously by council Monday.
Among the changes included in the new agreement is a section highlighting the need for regular appraisal of the city’s archive collection, which director of recreation and culture Eric Stepura told council had not taken place in at least 10 years.
Stepura estimated the cost of an appraisal at $45,000 to $55,000.
The contract does not specify yearly funding amounts provided by the city; Stepura told council funding will be allocated and approved on an annual basis in the city’s financial plan.
