With Elkford’s Wildcat Days cancelled, the Elkford Chamber of Commerce will be virtually hosting the annual Wildcat Days Craft Fair. The online market will take place from June 21 till June 28 via the Facebook group Shop Local Elkford BC.
Open to businesses selling everything from homemade crafts to food, the craft fair is accepting vendors until June 20. All interested vendors are urged to fill out registration forms, found on the Shop Local Elkford Facebook page under the files tab.
While the Facebook group is typically only accessible to residents of Elkford, the fair will open the group up to vendors and buyers ranging from Lethbridge to Cranbrook. Throughout the week of the fair, registered vendors will post photos of their items on the group, alongside corresponding prices.
Hosted to support small businesses during the pandemic, the event first and foremost hopes to create excitement for local vendors, while also raising money for future Chamber of Commerce enterprises.
“Small businesses were affected greatly during COVID-19. We want to be able to showcase all of the amazing businesses that we have, as supporting local over commercial is greatly appreciated in times like these,” said Shawna Bryant, executive director of the Elkford Chamber of Commerce.
While there is no vendor fee, the Elkford Chamber of Commerce requests all vendors donate one item to be used in a virtual silent auction, for premium baskets, or as prizes. All proceeds from the silent auction will go towards future chamber organized community events, such as the Business Awards, the Community Christmas Party, the Annual General Meeting, and the Moonlight Madness Craft Fair. The money raised from the craft fair will also cover administrative costs for the Chamber’s Clean Up Elkford Program and the Youth Chamber Program.
Completed registration forms and any outstanding inquiries can be emailed to elkfordchamber@gmail.com.
