The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a wildfire burning in Farwell Canyon, roughly 22 kilometres south of Riske Creek.
The wildfire is an estimated 2.5 hectares in size, and resulting smoke may be visible from the Highway 20 corridor and the community of Riske Creek.
The BC Wildfire Service initially responded with three firefighters and air tanker support.
An additional 20 firefighters and two helicopters were anticipated to arrive on Wednesday morning.
This fire was discovered and responded to Tuesday evening — its cause is currently under investigation.
