A low-pressure centre currently just West of Haida Gwaii will track past Langara early this evening then reach the North Coast by midnight.
In its wake, southerly winds with speeds in excess of 70 km/h will develop this evening. These strong winds will be funnelled along the fjords and inlets of the North Coast – Inland Kitimat and Terrace regions. The strong winds will ease after midnight.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
