Just four incidents made the Oak Bay Police’s media report Dec. 3 to Dec. 9.
Two vehicles had to be towed from the scene of an accident Dec. 5. The offending driver was heading north on Henderson Rd, and tried to turn left on Cedar Hill Cross Rd. The driver failed to yield to a southbound vehicle, and was later issued a ticket.
On Dec. 6 a vehicle was robbed after it’s window was smashed in a Bee Street parking lot. It was reported to police that the theft took place around noon. A gym bag and some change are reported stolen. “Thefts from unlocked vehicles occur frequently, however, it is much less common for someone to smash a window to gain access,” said Deputy Chief Ray Bernoties. “Please ensure there is nothing of any potential value, visible from outside your vehicle.”
CATCH UP: Last week’s police brief
Over the night of Dec. 6/7, police responded to reports of an intoxicated male in the 1900 block of Bee St. The media report says the man was talking to himself and walked into a pole. He was transported by police to a nearby residence, where a friend agreed to look after him.
The next afternoon was more light hearted. Around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle on the 3300 block of Woodburn Ave. Two males were found with electronic equipment beside the vehicle. Further investigation revealed they were conducting an experiment.
