100 Mile RCMP responded to 70 complaints and calls for service. Some highlights are attached
Lost control
On Nov. 12, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a single-vehicle incident on Highway 97 near the 108 Mile Ranch.
The driver of a green 1998 Dodge pickup truck was south bound on Highway 97 when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle slid sideways in the lane and then hit the west ditch. The vehicle went up the embankment and then rolled over.
The driver was transported by ambulance to hospital with minor injuries and was subsequently released. Speed and weather conditions were factors in this collision.
Driving prohibition
On Nov. 12, police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver driving a white Dodge pickup truck near Airport Road in 100 Mile House.
The vehicle was located in the vicinity and was pulled over and the male driver displayed symptoms of liquor consumption.
An approved screening device was administered roadside. The result was a fail.
The driver met the conditions and he was subsequently issued an immediate 90-day roadside driving prohibition. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 30 days.
Slip sliding away
On Nov. 12, 100 mile Traffic Services attended the scene of a single-vehicle tractor-trailer incident on Highway 97 near Wright Station.
The driver of the tractor-trailer unit lost control on the roadway and slid into the ditch. The driver received a minor injury and was transported to hospi9tal by ambulance.
The tractor-trailer unit was removed the next morning when the weather conditions were improved.
Off to jail
On Nov. 8, two 100 Mile House residents were sentenced in Williams Lake Provincial Court for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Douglas Seterengen, 65, and Valerie Pegg, 53, were charged after a search warrant was executed on their residence in September 2008.
Seterengen received 12 months in jail, followed by 18 months of probation and a 10-year firearms prohibition.
Pegg received a nine-month conditional sentence order followed by 12 months of probation and a 10-year firearms prohibition.
Unwanted visitor
On Nov. 8, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a call of an unwanted person at a residence in 108 Mile Ranch.
A 20-year-old Prince George man had arrived at the residence. During the investigation, it was determined he had arrived in a stolen pickup truck.
The male was arrested for possession of stolen property and later released to appear in court in January 2012.
Robbery suspect
On Nov. 7, an employee from the 100 Mile House Chevron Gas Station reported that a male entered the business and approached the counter demanding money.
The female employee called 9-1-1 and the male pushed passed her, grabbed a package of cigarettes and gum and departed on foot.
100 Mile RCMP responded and received the suspect’s clothing description. Officers tracked the suspect’s footprints in the snow and located a male matching the description a short distance away and he was arrested. Although the suspect initially lied about his identity, he was subsequently properly identified. Thomas Archie, 26, has been charged with robbery and obstruction.
He has been held in custody until a court appearance on Nov. 23.
